Household Waste and Recycling.
All waste must be tied up in the bin bags provided and placed in the large bin outside at the end of your stay. Please lock the bin after use to prevent fly tipping. We urge our guests to be environmentally conscious and recycle where possible.
Recycling
Recycling is collected early on Monday mornings, so leave boxes and bags outside the fence line on Sunday evening or on your departure to ensure collection.
Plastics/Can Box: Please wash all items and squash/put the cap back on plastic bottles. This box is for plastic including yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, food trays, aerosol cans aluminium and tin cans. Please note aluminium foil must be clean if it is placed in this box. Black plastic, Tetra paks, cling film, cellophane or packaging film can not be recycled by the council services at present.
Glass Box: This box is for beer and wine bottles. Bottles must not be broken. Please do not mix glass with non -glass as it will not be accepted by the collection refuse service.
Brown Bag: For cardboard with tape removed, loo roll cores and egg boxes etc. Please squash down cardboard boxes to assist with collection.
Green Bag: For newspapers, magazines and clean plain paper.
Non-Recyclable Waste
There is a large grey wheelie bin outside the boundary fence for your waste. Please place waste in the black bags provided, tie them up, and put in the bin.
The bin is collected every 2 weeks, so please be mindful that other guests at Cedarwood may be visiting after your stay.
Detailed instructions are provided in the kitchen area inside Cedarwood. Please contact us if you have any additional question.
Storage Heater Instructions.
The On/Off switch for each heater is above the skirting board on the wall next to each heater. Please note, the Bathroom switch is in the Kitchen.
There are two control settings
Input controls how much heat is stored overnight - this is then released slowly the next day
Output controls how much of the available heat is being released
We advise the controls to be left at the minimum setting until the evening, when you may wish to increase the heat.
We strongly advise you reset the settings to minimum before going to sleep to avoid being too hot in the morning.
Please leave the heaters in the following settings upon departure:
Winter: All heaters set to Max Input and Min Output.
Autumn/Spring: Three heaters set to Max Input and Min Output
Summer: Set Kitchen to Max Input and Min Output should you need to try tea towels.
Important Note: Please do not leave towels or clothing on top to storage heaters as the thermal link will break and the radiator will not work. An electrician will need to be called to repair the issue.
